“We take on the challenge to bring to the fore the silent struggle of the homeless and the poor who live in the streets, under bridges, in makeshift shanties along railways or rivers. “ Cong. Kiko Benitez.
Joly Homes Foundation (JHF) congratulates Cong. Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, the new Chairperson of the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development, House of Representatives.
Rep. Benitez has been tirelessly discussing with Joly Homes and other CSOs, innovative and people-centered models of social housing and urban development and on how the participation of the marginalized can be enlarged at all levels of urban and regional planning.
Rep. Benitez’s leadership can widen the participation of CSOs on significant policies that would have an impact on the urban poor sector: national land use planning, just and humane resettlement, people-led and in-city shelter development, rental subsidy and homeless shelters and the sustainable production and financing of public housing.
