The Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development Alliance (AMDev) led the Second Advanced Manufacturing Stakeholder Forum, titled “Strengthening the Philippine TVET System in Advancing the Philippine Manufacturing Sector”, was held on September 25, 2024, at the Legaspi Ballroom, Makati Diamond Residences, in Makati City.
TESDA Director General, Secretary Jose Francisco Kiko Benitez, Deputy Directors General Rosanna Urdaneta and Nelly Nita Dillera, and Executive Director El Cid Castillo attended the event. DG Kiko delivered the keynote speech on National Strategies for Aligning the Education System with the Shifting Job Landscape in the Philippines.
The forum gathered stakeholders from government, industry, and education to discuss the need for enhancing the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system. This initiative supports TESDA’s broader efforts to improve workforce competitiveness by aligning skills with industry demands, particularly in advanced manufacturing technologies.
AMDev is a five-year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Unilab Foundation (ULF), collaborates with leading manufacturing companies, higher education institutions, specialized non-profits, and government agencies to advance these goals.
