📚 Jon Nichols on Differentiated Instruction: Delving into the core concepts of differentiated instruction and learning, Jon Nichols provided teachers with a hands-on opportunity to practice concrete and easily applicable differentiated learning strategies. This workshop aimed at empowering educators with practical tools to cater to the diverse needs of their students.
📖 Maureen Rooney on Reading Comprehension: Unveiling innovative approaches to assess students’ comprehension beyond traditional tests, Maureen Rooney’s workshop focused on differentiating reading comprehension to meet individual student needs. Participants gained insights into employing evidence-based techniques such as graphic organizers and rubrics to enhance reading instruction and comprehension.
A cohort of at least 47 participants from 15 public schools actively engaged in this enlightening workshop, showcasing a commitment to professional growth and effective teaching practices.
📚 Differentiated Instruction with Ethan Penn: Teachers immersed themselves in a dynamic workshop on Differentiated Instruction. Participants were engaged in learning sessions aimed to equip them with various strategies that will foster their adaptability in teaching students with diverse needs.
📖 Reading Comprehension with Steven Pegelow: The workshop, aptly named “Sticker Stories,” encouraged collaboration and creativity among participants. Using paper, pencil, and stickers, teachers crafted stories that became materials for collaborative discussions about mood and main ideas. The training emphasized that assessment should not solely focus on the answer but rather on students’ ability reason out their answers.
An impressive turnout of up to 70 public school teachers and school heads attended from 15 public schools in Talisay City, showcasing Talisay City’s strong commitment to professional development as the District’s center for educational excellence.
📖 Differentiated Instruction with Jill King: Guided participants through the creation and leadership of differentiated activities for speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The training was a student-centered approach, focused on everyday English and real-life experiences. Teachers were made to experiment with strategies tailored to different learning styles, delving into topics such as leisure time activities and family vacations in the islands.
📚 Cathy Tade’s Reading Comprehension Training: Heightened participants’ understanding of the components of reading comprehension for K-3 students. Participants conducted activities employed to support the exploration of dynamic strategies for designing and leading effective reading lessons.
The first day in Murcia witnessed the active engagement of 52 dedicated teachers and school heads from 16 public schools.
📚 Carla Bailey on Differentiated Instruction: Carla guided teachers through the intricacies of Differentiated Instruction, focusing on readiness, interests, and cultural learning profiles. The workshop equipped teachers with cutting-edge techniques, activities, and modern pedagogy strategies to address the diverse learning needs of their students.
📖 Dr. Joseph Kuhl on Reading Comprehension: Dr. Kuhl delved into an insightful overview of differentiated learning styles and their impact on teaching reading strategies for young learners. The session transitioned into moderated group work, using reading passages, graphic organizers, and a general rubric to stimulate discussions on best practices in literacy with young learners.
At least 79 dedicated participants from both Victorias and Bacolod City, representing 15 public schools in Victorias and 16 public schools in Bacolod, actively engaged in this transformative workshop.
📚 Differentiated Instruction with Jeff Wheatley: Focused on instilling the importance of a flow of differentiation in teaching methods. Jeff guided public school teachers in how to tailoring their approaches for individual students, aiming for a comprehensive and nuanced teaching methodology.
🔍 Reading Comprehension with Steve Wachter: Explored the realm of learning comprehension, the training highlighted the efficacy of differential instruction in reading activities. Through strategic rotations in small groups, participants were taught how to engage with diverse approaches that cater to various learning styles.
Around 47 dedicated public school teachers and school heads from 15 institutions actively participated, contributing to the success of this enriching workshop.
