House approves Benitez bill upgrading TLJPH bed capacity

Third District Representative Francisco “Kiko” Benitez cited the joint effort of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Silay City government, Barangay E. Lopez, the people of the community, the contractors, and the Congressional Office for making possible the construction of Malisbog Bridge, as he led the simple inaugural and blessing rites today (May 25, 2021). Underscoring the importance of the bridge in connecting people to other communities, facilities and economic activities, he also stressed how such linkages make a difference in people’s lives – ease of transport of people and goods. With Cong. Benitez were Silay Mayor Mark Golez, DPWH District Engineer Abraham Villareal and E. Lopez Punong Barangay Ging Gallego. Also present were Senator JV Ejercito, Silay Councilors Lyndon Bernardo, Edwin John Dennis Velez, Ramon Celebre, Andrew John Penuela, and Henry Belleza; and Guinhalaran Punong Barangay Toti Lopez. Rev. Fr. Ermen Bimbao led the blessing rites. Malisbog Bridge located in Barangay E. Lopez spans 60 lineal meters or an area of 791.8 square meters. Project cost is P 47,023,662.89*
