I applaud Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez for issuing E.O No. 64 Banning the Use of Unnecessary Single-Use Plastics Products in all government offices in Victorias City.

As the author of R.A 11898, the Extended Producers’ Responsibility Act. A law that mandates LGUs and plastic manufacturers to recover, collect, and clean up all plastic waste. E.O No. 64 is a welcome development and testament to Victorias City’s concern for the environment

As Head of the Technical Working Group in the 18th Congress responsible for passing on third and final reading House Bill No. 9146, Regulating Single-Use Plastics. We call for everyone’s support for this bill to pass into law.

Banning single-use plastics is a critical and concrete step towards a sustainable economy, and shall be a big win for the environment and for future generations to come!
