Our rich history and cultural heritage constitute the soul of our nation. This National Heritage Month, we renew our commitment to heritage conservation, cultural protection, and cultural education to cultivate a strong sense of place, community, and national identity. Accordingly, the Committee on Basic Education and Culture passed today the bill that strengthens cultural mapping at the LGU level, as it recognizes the importance of identifying historical sites, heritage structures, artifacts, cultural traditions, customs, and cultural performances in promoting cultural education and tourism.
