Philippine Ballet Theater Comes To Metro Third

Philippine Ballet Theater, the classical ballet company in the country and resident ballet company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, will be featured in a series of performances, free for the general public, in the cities of the Third District of Negros Occidental this week.

“Encore”, featuring the best of the Philippine Ballet Theater USA 2019 Tour will be presented by the Filipino Heritage Festival, Inc. together with the Office of Congressman Francisco “Kiko” Benitez in cooperation with the local government units of the Third District.

The public is invited to the performances in Talisay Public Plaza at 7 pm of December 6 (Friday); in Victorias City at the Don Alejandro Yap Quiña Cultural Center at 7 pm of December 7 (Saturday); and on December 8 (Sunday) at 6 pm at the Kansilayan Gym in Silay City.

Founded in 1987, the Philippine Ballet Theater is an alliance of leading dance groups that pursues the preservation of the rich and elegant classical story ballet, launches contemporary ballet, and promotes appreciation among Filipino audiences of the artistic excellence of classical ballet. IT has travelled extensively around the country and abroad showcasing the best of Filipino classical and contemporary ballet.

Working closely to bring the group to the province are Armita Bantug Rufino, president of the Filipino Heritage Festival, Inc.. Congressman Kiko Benitez, and Talisay Mayor Neil Lizares, Victorias Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, Silay Mayor Mark Golez, EB Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon, and Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas.*
