It was an evening of affirmation and fellowship and a unique culinary journey, too!
A small group of VIPs had gathered one September evening, hosted by Metro 3rd Representative Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, who brought to the private, cool and rustic surrounding of the Toreno Fishpond in Victorias City, a five-course French menu with wine pairings – a unique fusion of French cooking using indigenous ingredients that abound in Negros, put together by Master Chef Cyrille Soenen of Maitres Cuisiniers de France in collaboration with CulinariaBcd’s Chef Enzo Campos and Chef Jill Lim.
Maitres Cuisiniers de France is a prestigious association of carefully selected top French chefs dedicated to upholding the tradition of classic French cooking . Chef Cyrille had served at Ritz Paris and in several of Paris best restaurants. In 2015 he received the title, Master Chef of France. He brought to the Philippines his mastery of classic French cuisine, joining Intercontinental Manila and Impressions at Resorts World Manila.
Married to a Negrense Ana Ascalon, the Soenens visited relatives in the province and had to stay a little longer due to the lockdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.*
