TESDA Strengthens Skills Development in Caraga Region

Secretary Kiko Benitez (Professor K), marked a significant milestone for technical education as he led TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) in establishing stronger partnerships across Caraga Region. On January 31, Professor K and Butuan City Mayor Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada formalized an agreement through a Deed of Usufruct, securing a new home for TESDA’s Regional Office in Butuan City.
Building on this momentum, TESDA Caraga expanded its network of collaborations through strategic partnerships with key regional stakeholders. These include vital agreements with:
• The energy sector through Agusan del Norte Electric Cooperative (ANECO, Inc.)
• Local government units, including the Provincial Government of Agusan del Norte
• The business community via Butuan City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (BCCCIFI)
• Military units: the 402nd Infantry “Stingers” Brigade and 901st Infantry “Fight ‘Em” Brigade
• Mining industry leaders: Chamber of Mines – Caraga Region, Inc. and Taganito Mining Corp
• National government agencies: Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW)
These milestones pave the way for expanded opportunities and a more empowered workforce in the Caraga region.
